What is manufactured limestone sand?

Manufactured Limestone Sand is produced by crushing, washing and screening limestone aggregates that have the requisite hardness and tensile strength.  Both domestic and international quality standards agencies certify that this material is fit for purpose and provides an environmentally friendly alternative to the mining of our rivers. 

How is your ground calcium carbonate packaged?

Our ground calcium carbonate is typically packaged in 25 kg bags and stacked on wooden pallets.  Alternately, it may be packaged in 1 ton super sacks. 

How much lead time do you require to fill an order?

Orders may take between 2 to 8 weeks to fill, depending on the size of the order. We make every effort to fill emergency orders.

How far is Lydford, St.Ann from Jamaica’s major cities.

Lydford is approximately 22 km from Ocho Rios, 67 km from the capital city of  Kingston and 109 km from Jamaica’s second city, Montego Bay.  Our sites are easily accessible via major road networks, including the Jamaica North South Highway.

The bulk loading port facility in Ocho Rios is owned and operated by the Jamaica Bauxite Mining Company.

The Port of Ocho Rios may accommodate vessels of up to 710 feet in length, with a draft of 44 feet.  Ships as large as 48,000 t have been loaded at the port.

The port is shared with cruise ships and other cargo ships.  The ship traffic has little impact on limestone ships as the arrival schedule can readily be coordinated.
