Sustainable Mining Project takes Engineering Project of the Year

Lydford Mining Company has been named the winner of the prestigious Award for Engineering Project of the Year by the Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE) for their groundbreaking initiative, Engineered Sustainability in Limestone Mining. The announcement was made recently during a gala and awards dinner at The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

 

Lydford Mining pledges 30 truckloads of material to kick-start reconstruction after Hurricane Beryl

Aubyn Hill, the minister of industry, investment, and commerce, has made a sweeping call to private sector stakeholders to aid in rebuilding communities affected by Hurricane Beryl with an eye for more resilient structures. The minister, a St Elizabeth native, invited members of Lydford Mining Company and Jamaica Institution of Engineers (JIE) to tour communities on July 10.

Lydford Mining brings crucial support to St Ann schools amid water scarcity

Lydford Mining has extended a helping hand, donating approximately 1,998 gallons of water, equivalent to nearly $2.4 million in costs absorbed by Lydford, to schools in the community.

Ministers Shaw and Hill show support For export market as Lydford Mining makes second major shipment to US-Based Vulcan Materials Company

Ministers Audley Shaw and Aubyn Hill welcomed representatives from Vulcan Materials, the USA’s largest producer of construction aggregates. This is the Company’s second visit to Jamaica as part of a commercial arrangement with Lydford Mining Company to supply high-purity limestone aggregates to Vulcan.

Lydford Mining partners with American company Vulcan to triple exports

Lydford Mining has entered into a sales arrangement with Vulcan Materials, one of the largest producers of construction aggregates in the United States, an agreement that’s poised to triple the amount of aggregates the Ocho Rios-based company ships.

 

Jamaica exports largest single bulk shipment of limestone

February 2023

Jamaica marked a major milestone with the largest single bulk shipment of limestone being loaded by Lydford Mining. The material was transported by motor vessel Donald M. James, the largest bulk carrier to ever visit the island. It departed with 55,000 tons of chemical-grade limestone.

Jamaican company secures first limestone shipment to US

October 2022

Lydford Mining Company has secured its first shipment of construction-grade limestone to the United States. The team worked over four days with 1,000 trucks to load 36,000 metric tonnes of three-quarter inch stone, which will be used in the production of concrete aggregates in Savannah, Georgia.

Lydford mining executes us$1-million limestone shipment

Lydford Mining Limited last Sunday made its first major shipment of processed limestone valued at US$1 million. The shipment, which left from Reynolds Pier in Ocho Rios for the United States, contained 35,000 tons of food and pharmaceutical-grade limestone aggregate which will be utilised in many applications in the food and pharmaceutical industry.
