Lydford was the first exporter of pharmaceutical grade limestone to the United States. Many years later we achieved another first by exporting manufactured limestone sand.

From the gem of the Caribbean to the world, we are leveraging Jamaica’s most abundant, naturally occurring resource to supply world class materials. With billions of tons of this sedimentary rock, composed mainly of calcium carbonate, the island has hundreds of years of natural reserves.
We Are Sustainable.
Our limestone mining operations are an environmentally friendly alternative to the mining of river sand. Manufactured limestone sand is a more sustainable mining practice - eliminating the risk of over-mining the river beds and consequent land erosion.
Additionally, we have integrated modern technology to reduce our impact while delivering what matters with high quality limestone materials.

Our limestone products meet international specifications. This includes our food and pharmaceutical grade products which follow the Good Manufacturing Practice.
Our construction grade products all meet ASTM standards, ensuring that we provide high quality concrete and roadwork materials for customers worldwide.

With a long legacy of mining high-purity calcium carbonate, we have continued to innovate with new offerings, including our concrete products and road base.
Additionally, our washed construction grade aggregate is internationally accredited and has been used in many large construction projects including the Sangster’s International Airport renovation project in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Our Plants
We are located in St. Ann, the birth parish of Reggae legend Bob Marley. Lydford is ideally positioned geographically and experience-wise for exceptional and sustainable growth.
